The Magic Within Your Scars.

Updated: Aug 18

You, my friend, are a wonder to behold. You have memories of countless trials, adversities, hardships, traumas, and personal wars that you have survived. And each time you think of these experiences - images and actual sensory activations arise. This is the magic within these scars - but more on that in a bit.

Take a moment to find pride in these scars of who you are, the feelings that arise with these marks, and what you've endured and lived through. Instead of seeing disfigurement, see and feel the wondrous warrior that has emerged through the fire. And, as we all know, there are visible but also invisible scars upon our person.

Ok - that’s as far down the “you’re a warrior because of what you’ve survived” road I’m going to go. Now let’s shift our mindsets and take it up a magical notch.

The people in your life who remind you of an “ugh” time - especially remembering their participation within that difficult time (perhaps being the cause) - are no more significant than that scar on your arm. (Read that again.)

You don’t avoid looking at a scar (I’ve got a hell of a one under my chin) and that old wound is long, since NATURALLY healed. Did you get that? NATURALLY!

You don’t have to feel “ugh” when you think of that person and if you do, okay. And you sure as hell don’t have to play the game of “this is an issue that isn’t healed.” simply because feelings arise when you think of that time and that person.

There is no more significance to these feelings other than it is simply because you CAN. You can imagine a tennis ball and suddenly “feel” its fuzziness and firmness. You can imagine a rose and suddenly smell it even though there’s nothing there. Now think of a crisp, new dollar bill. It has a distinct smell. And you can smell that right now simply because I brought it up.

Don’t you have memories of experiences that still, years later, make your stomach clench or cause you to drop your head in your hands with embarrassment? This stunning ability is what makes you amazing! Not broken.

How about taking a moment and feeling WOW at yourself for the little feat of magic you just performed?

YOU are a wonder to behold. You are capable of activating viable senses (taste, touch, smell, hear, feel, and feeeel) in your mind!

That is the magic within your scars. You’re not bad-ass because you survived - you’re bad-ass because it’s YOU!

Isn’t it just so amazing that you get to live in a world where you can simply shift the power into your favor at the simple shift of your mindset?

There you go being that bad-ass, magical warrior again…
